Welcome to Dar Lynns’ Maltese located on the west coast of sunny Florida in a small but growing town named Spring Hill. We are a small in home AKC breeder with the goals of breeding healthy well socialized puppies according to the AKC Maltese Standards. We breed for quality Maltese not quantity with pure white silky coats, beautiful faces, dark pigmentation and structurally sound bodies.

Our Maltese are bred on a limited basis with the goal of improving each breeding and obtaining a consistency in our line. Occasionally we have Maltese puppies available to pet homes with a Limited AKC registration and a spay/neuter contract. All puppies stay here at Dar Lynns’ for a minimum of twelve weeks before going to their forever home with No Exceptions. We are also firm believers in AKC DNA testing and certification. Increasingly, breeders are using the certification of their dogs’ DNA as a tool – proof that they take their pedigrees seriously. The use of DNA technology has ballooned in the dog world since first being introduced just eight years ago. The AKC reports show more than 250,000 dogs in its DNA database.

I fell in love with the Maltese shortly after getting my little Yorkshire Terrier in 1999. I had taken him in to the Vets for his shots and there sat a woman with this beautiful white fluffy creature. It was staring into my eyes and  I felt this calmness coming from this little dog that went right to my soul. I sat and held this precious puppy while talking to it's owner about the breed. I went home that day so excited about my afternoon and couldn't stop talking about this wonderful breed of dog. I had to have a Maltese and even though my husband said I was crazy  -  I eventually won !!!

In November of 2003 I started to look for a female to enhance the breeding line of my Maltese. After looking at many web sites I started contacting the ones that held my interest by the information they presented on their site. I contacted four breeders explaining my intentions. I received three replies within an hour two of which told me that after I acquire a Championship as a breeder or owner to contact them and maybe then we could talk.

I remember saying to my husband, ok so how do I do this if no one will give me the opportunity or even talk to me. My drive and commitment to the breed came after having many heart aches from bad choices I had made and I was determined to have someone hear what was in my heart. It was a long hard search finding someone to listen to me and even harder finding someone to trust in me enough to allow me to own one of their beautiful Maltese.

My next reply came from Sharon Girven of Blue Hill Maltese.  I contacted Sharon explaining my love for this magnificent breed and my intentions of bettering the breed. I found in Sharon someone who was willing to listen to my dreams and my love for the Maltese.

On December 16th she sent me a picture of my little girl and my heart just melted – I couldn’t believe this little angel was actually going to be mine. I think I must have looked at that picture a thousand times and showed it to anyone that would look but unless you have ever owned a Maltese you can’t imagine how they can take over your heart and remain in your soul.

We spoke frequently through emails and on the phone and on January 14, 2004 I was holding my little girl at 5:45 pm. Madison is simply beautiful. Sharon sent me a well socialized, loving and beautifully groomed puppy right down to her little nails.

Breeding must come from the heart. The love for the breed, the want and drive to produce sound beautiful puppies whose health and standards must take precedence through the breeding program. I have found this to be true in Sharon and many of the Show Breeders I have met along the way. There are many wonderful caring breeders whose love for the Maltese is evident in the puppies they produce. I will always be grateful to them for seeing in me what others saw in them.
